Further raising the bar in performance and playability for its most famous guitar series, Washburn today announced the addition of an Elite model to its Heritage Guitar series at Winter NAMM 2019 in Booth #6814, according to Washburn Vice President & General Manager Gil Soucy.
“The Washburn D10S was the #1 selling acoustic guitar in the world for many, many years,” Soucy said today. “This iconic strummer’s guitar is the foundation for the entire Heritage Series of acoustic and acoustic-electric guitars. All Heritage Series guitars feature AA Grade solid Sitka Spruce or Cedar tops from North America with “Cathedral Peak” Scalloped-X bracing, Washburn’s Heritage faux-tortoise shell pickguard, Graphtech NuBone nut and saddle and Fishman electronics on the E/CE models. Our new Heritage Elite Guitar extends Washburn’s long history of creating iconic instruments to a new generation of players.”
With the new Washburn Heritage Elite HD80, Washburn adds the “Elite” tier to the Heritage line of instruments. With a unique scalloped X-bracing, solid spruce top with the classic Washburn “heritage” rosette and abalone binding; this dreadnought size guitar has a big voice; articulate and focused with plenty of projection. The back and sides are made of eye-catching striped ebony in a high-gloss finish that highlights the exotic draw of this striking wood. The 25 ½” scale Laurel fingerboard and bridge, similar in both look and hardness to Rosewood, will offer the player a familiarity of touch under the fingers. Okoume is the wood of choice for the neck and its natural matte finish is comfortable and fast in the hand.
“Appealing to the eyes, ears and hands, the new Heritage Elite HD80 is a true workhorse companion instrument that’s suitable for all players looking for a full-sized acoustic guitar with a big voice,” Soucy said today.
The entire 2019 line-up of Washburn Guitars is being exhibited at Winter NAMM 2019 in Booth #6814 in the Anaheim Convention Center.
