Universal Audio, a leading manufacturer of professional audio recording hardware and software, is proud to announce that the Arrow audio interface and OX Amp Top Box premium reactive load and guitar recording system have each won Technical Excellence and Creativity (TEC) Awards. The Empirical Labs EL8 Distressor Compressor and KORG SDD-3000 Digital Delay plug-ins were also nominated.
The TEC Awards were established in 1985 to honor outstanding achievement in professional audio production and product innovation. Hundreds of entries for nomination were reviewed and voted upon by an extensive panel of veteran sound and music industry professionals in the U.S. and abroad.
Arrow Wins TEC Award — Computer Hardware
Arrow is the world’s first Thunderbolt 3-powered desktop recording audio interface for Mac and Windows — delivering class-leading audio conversion, two Unison mic preamps, and a suite of onboard UAD plug-ins for album-quality results.
OX Amp Top Box Wins TEC Award — Musical Instrument Amplification and Effects
OX is a premium reactive load box and guitar recording system, delivering perfectly miked amp sounds from tube guitar amps. OX allows guitarists to play their amps in its sweet spots — from huge clean tones and edge-of-breakup to fully cranked — at any volume, and with mic, room, and speaker emulations at the turn of a knob.
OX Amp Top Box was also the recipient of Sound On Sound’s Readers’ Choice Award for Best New Guitar Technology Product.
“Universal Audio is honored to receive these two TEC Awards,” says Bill Putnam Jr., CEO and founder of Universal Audio. “Both the Arrow and OX Amp Top Box were moonshot products that brought our analog and digital teams together like never before. We truly appreciate the recognition.”
